Medical Grade Laser Tattoo Removal

Oxford Laser Aesthetics provide advanced tattoo removal treatments using the high power PicoMax Picosecond Laser, an effective method of removing pigmentation and colour tattoos. The laser breaks down the pigment into small fragments which the body can remove naturally.

Fast & Safe Treatments

With a high peak power and the shortest pulse duration of any Pico Laser, PicoMax delivers superior photoacoustic breakdown of pigment, with less discomfort and lower risk of side effects. End results are achieved in less number of sessions than many other lasers.

How it Works

Creating an intense photoacoustic impact in trillionths of a second, PicoMax targets the tattoo pigment for better clearance in fewer treatments while avoiding skin damage.

The 1064nm wavelength targets black, blue, and green tattoo inks, while the 532nm wavelength offers effective treatment of red, yellow and orange inks, which are typically hard to correct.

Thanks to higher peak power (up to 1.7GW) PicoMax can treat all kinds of tattoos (all colours) and pigmented lesions faster and easier.

How many treatments are required?

Most tattoos can be considerably diminished and many can be completely removed. For most tattoos a course of 4-8 sessions is required with at least 6 weeks between each treatment. The number of treatments will depend on the age, size, colour and location of the tattoo as well as the type and depth of the ink pigment.

Is it painful?

Laser tattoo removal typically involves some level of discomfort. Most people report that it is comparable to having a tattoo applied. With the shortest pulse duration, PicoMax operates with less discomfort and lower risk of side effects. Skin numbing can be used to reduce pain. This can involve cold air, ice pack or topical cream such as Emla cream.

Are there any side effects?

Side effects can be expected after treatment but these are temporary. There is an immediate whitening of the area treated which may last for several minutes to several hours. Short term effects can include reddening, bruising and / or blistering. We will provide you with pre and post care instructions prior to treatment.

Consultations

We offer a free consultation to provide a comprehensive understanding of the procedure and what to expect and to assess your suitability for treatment. Prior to any treatment we would conduct a patch test and then schedule treatment 1-4 weeks later.
